As part of the statewide Regional Cooperative Tourism Program, Travel Portland has been designated by Travel Oregon as the regional destination marketing organization for the Greater Portland region. The Regional Cooperative Tourism Program Director—Greater Portland is charged with managing the Greater Portland scope of work. The purpose of this position is to:
Advance the work of regional partners to build and strengthen relationships with groups, organizations and communities across the Greater Portland region.
Ensure that regional efforts and cross-agency plans are aligned in positioning the region to out-of-state markets as a preferred destination for leisure and meetings/convention travel.
Conduct stakeholder engagement and management efforts that will inform annual strategic planning initiatives and will be implemented in conjunction with staff across regional destination marketing organizations.
Successful candidates will have a BA, at least 5 years of experience with state/local policy issues, a board of directors and stakeholder engagement. Experience with economic development, hospitality/tourism advocacy or local/federal government is plus. The position is open until 4:00 pm May 5th. To apply visit www.travelportland.com.
